Buck Show – We had a great turn out at the buck show this year. There were 44 heads scored, 30 in the senior division, 9 in junior division and 5 that were not eligible for the contest. Seniors Results: 1st Place: Scott Tangen, 2nd Place: Randi Van Enk and 3rd Place: Jim Altringer. Juniors Results: 1st Place: Tessa Schroeder, 2nd Place: Samantha Nelson and 3rd Place: Nick Kvilvang. . TJ would like to thank everyone that helped with the show.
Archery- Archery is starting the second week of January. They will be shooting Monday and Wednesday nights from 7pm-9pm. The location is still 1025 4 Bottle Drive in the northwest industrial park between Drug Plastics and the Barnes County Municipal Airport. For more information call Neil Pederson at 840-0173.
Membership Drive and Landowner Appreciation Supper- Will be January 4th at the Eagles.
Gas and Grocery Raffle Tickets- Please turn tickets into Perry or bring them with to the Membership Drive. The drawing will take place that night.
BCWF Banquet – Numbers were down at bit this year. There were 220 people fed, down 27 from last year. Donations were also down and approximately $3,000 less in profit made.
NDWF Convention – The convention will be January 20th through the 22th in Bismarck. Please contact Perry if you are interested in going.
Pheasant Tail Contest – The pheasant tail contest will take place before the January Meeting. Please bring in the entire tail section from the pheasant.
NDHS Trap – Both Emma Meilke and Bralen Bruns placed well in the fall trap league.
Pickup Banquet – Tickets are available, please contact Perry if you are interested in going. There are only 425 tickets available.
Artificial Garland- We will be doing the perch spawning rings on Ashtabula again this year. Please save any artificial garland you were planning on throwing away for the club.

Jr Naturalists- Jr Naturalists will be at the fish hatchery on November 17th at 6pm. This month will be making dream catchers. People are asked to bring feathers with them. If you have any questions contact Harley Mairs at Harley.mairs@vcsu.edu or 701-680-0467
Annie Oakley Shoot- The shoot was held on September 20th. There were 29 contestants and the winner this year was Dan Anderson. There was $209 raised for hunter’s education that night.
VCHS Fall Trap League- 17 kids signed up to shoot this fall at VCHS. There are five other schools shooting in the fall league, with around 70 kids total shooting.
Legislative – Dick Monson gave a report on what is happening at the state level at the October meeting. Gary Will would like the club to support lowering the number of out of state mule deer bow licenses available to nonresidents. If there are any other items members would like discussed they should bring them to the club.
Election of Officers- December will be election of club officers, if you are interested in running contact Perry
BCWF Predator Hunt- The club’s predator hunt will be on February 4th
Deer for the Food Pantry – We will be taking deer for the food pantry again this year. Just take your deer to Valley Meats and let Rod know it’s being donated to the food pantry and that the wildlife club is paying for it.

Hides for Habitat- We will be having hides for habitat again this year. There will be a 50/50 cash prize again this year.

Fall Banquet – The banquet will be Friday, October 28th at the Valley City Eagles Club. There are early bird tickets available at L&H Shoe Shop and Northwestern Industries, early bird tickets must be purchased by October 15th to be eligible for the $100 Valley Meats Gift Certificate. Banquet setup will be 10/27.
Jr Naturalists- Next event is archery, on 10/13 at 4 pm. Contact Harley to RSVP 701-680-0467.
Gaylon Hansen Youth Outdoors Day- It was a success again this year with roughly 25 youth attending.
Fisheries Project – BCW and Dakota Anglers split the cost to repair the boat ramp at Fox Lake.
Hunters Ed- The 27 students completed the course. The next Hunters Ed class will be in March.

This will be our schedule for the fall school year. We are super excited for this year’s events and we cannot wait to see the children! Each event will be around an hour to an hour and half depending on the event. Along with the event we will also be showing a slideshow about fun facts and safety regarding the month’s activity.
